Throughout Waneek’s athletic and professional career, she has represented and promoted well known  brands such as Roots Canada, Complex 15 Skin Cream and Manitobah Mukluks. Waneek’s understanding of the importance of brand association with a strong, intelligent and well spoken ambassador, has enabled her to help brands become better recognized outside their normal sphere of influence. 

Cross-cultural engagement

Throughout Waneek’s career, she has had to walk in have two eyed seeing. From an Indigenous Perspective this means she has been able to see the world from both a indigenous perspective and non-indigenous perspective and be able to translate important, sensitive and complex concepts and information to both worlds.  She has used this unique ability to help engage organizations like the Canadian Olympic Committee and empower them with Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Empowerment. Waneek has always been an excellent communicator and more importantly an important listener, which makes her a powerful facilitator in cross-cultural engagement. 

Indigenous Community engagement

With over 25 years of experience working in Indigenous Communities, Waneek has gain a solid reputation for her ability to engage with all kinds of people, organizations and associations. She has also been able to address a wide range of topics and enable community members to feel heard and respected. She is able to analyze and understand the diversity and sensitivity of the issues on the forefront of indigenous communities and is very proficient in report writing and presentation of findings. These skills have taken her from community engagement in the Mohawk community of Wahta to the position of Director of Community Engagement for the National Inquiry into Murdered and Missing Indigenous women and Girls.
